Welcome to AskToLLM. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AskToLLM javascript tool and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is provided by PlainSignal, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").

1. The Service

AskToLLM is a tool that website owners can install to allow their visitors to ask questions about the page's content and receive answers from various large language models (LLMs). The Service is provided to website owners free of charge.

2. Data Collection and Privacy

We believe in transparency and privacy. To improve our Service and provide value to our users, we collect limited, non-personal telemetry data using privacy-focused analytics tools. We collect the following information:

  • The number of times the AskToLLM button is clicked.
  • Which LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) are used for queries.
  • The page URL where the Service is used. This allows us to provide usage statistics to registered website owners about how the tool is being used on their site.

How We Process Content: To provide context for a visitor's question, the Service automatically converts the text content of the webpage into a simplified markdown format. This markdown version of the page content is attached to the user's query string and sent to their chosen LLM. This process is essential for the LLM to provide relevant and accurate answers based on the content of your page.

We do not collect, store, or view the content of the questions asked or the answers provided. We do not collect any personal information about your website visitors.

3. Your Responsibilities

As a website owner using the Service, you agree not to use it for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including any privacy laws relevant to your visitors.

4. Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or terminate the Service at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or termination of the Service.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. PlainSignal, Inc. makes no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlainSignal, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from your use of the Service.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
